We had an opportunity to have a panel discussion with Rex Gerstner from Unlocking Doors & Abdul Karriem a Prison Chaplain concerning the different programs available to ex-offenders to help them reenter society.

We also discussed how we can promote positive change in our communities to reduce recidivism. There are a variety of services to help individuals who were formerly incarcerated. The most important changes can happen with family and community support.

We hope you enjoyed our event featuring two important topics that affect our community deeply - mental health awareness and removing barriers to communication between parents and teachers.

Mr. Thomas McGhee, Executive Director of our organization, is committed to bringing awareness to the critical issues that impact our society, and we were honored for everyone who came out to join us for this very important discussion.

Our first speaker, Gina Thompson, delved into the important topic of mental health. As we all know, the challenges and uncertainties of the past few years have taken a significant toll on our collective well-being. It is imperative that we prioritize our mental health and seek support when needed.

Topics of discussion were debunking the myths and common stigmas associated with Mental Health among the African American community, why Mindset Matters, the role Trauma plays on our Mental Health and Overall Well-being, Creating a Growth Plan and the Importance of Small Steps.

Denise Montgomery, our second speaker, addressed the issue of communication between parents and teachers. Ms. Montgomery has spent the past 3 decades educating students in Dallas ISD and she is currently a GED instructor.

As parents, we all want the best for our children, and their academic success is a top priority. Effective communication between parents and teachers is crucial for achieving this goal. Denise shared strategies and best practices for breaking down communication barriers and fostering a collaborative relationship between parents and teachers.

Both of these topics were of the utmost importance, and we are confident that this event provided valuable information and tools that benefited us all. We encouraged everyone to participate actively in the discussions and take away actionable ideas that they could implement in their daily lives.

Thank you for joining us, and we look forward to hosting more engaging and insightful events in the future.

Home Ownership

December 22, 2022

For most home buyers, the purchase of real estate is one of the largest financial transactions they will make.

Buyers purchase a home not only for the desire to own a home of their own, but also because of changes in jobs, family situations, and the need for a smaller or larger living area.

As a Licensed Realtor, Mr. Thomas McGhee consistently goes above and beyond to help families to become homeowners.

Farmland Acquisition

November 17, 2022

In a day and age when many of us are far removed from the
farm, teaching youths about agriculture is more important than ever.

Farming teaches children of all ages life skills like raising food, working hard, communication, caring for others and much more.

We are in the process of acquiring 100 acres of Farmland in Mount Pleasant, Texas (contracts pending) to teach our youths how to grow crops using aquaponics.
